A literary perspective on the human consequences of conflict.
Author reading from the book Vivian Avraamidou Ploumbis: Voices from the Ghost Town
A book of short stories inspired by the city of Famagusta in Cyprus, which has remained closed off and uninhabited for decades. Through literature, the narrative focuses on ordinary people and everyday life, abruptly interrupted when conflicts between nations turn into intractable political disputes.
The text highlights the human consequences of intolerance and the need to give voice to those who actually experience these conflicts, especially when politics begins to overshadow independent life.
The author reading is held in collaboration with Europe Direct Pardubice and the Honorary Consulate of the Hellenic Republic in Pardubice.
Reading will be held in Czech.
