The lecture will introduce listeners to the circumstances and course of the famous journey of the poet Karel Hynek Mácha to the Krkonoše Mountains in 1833. It will focus primarily on the main destinations of the trip, the Krkonoše Mountains and Sněžka, and the return route through Eastern Bohemia, including Kunětická Hora. Connections between Mácha’s journey and his literary and artistic work will also be highlighted.
