The most famous Impressionist
This year, many major museums and galleries around the world are commemorating the 100th anniversary of Claude Monet’s death. Monet’s painting Impression, Sunrise (1872) gave the Impressionist movement its name. We will explore his significant works, such as Women in the Garden (1867) and Saint-Lazare Station (1877), as well as Giverny, the place where he found the peace necessary for his creative work. There, he created legendary pieces, including the large-scale Water Lilies series, which he donated to the French state in 1923 and which is now displayed at the Orangerie Museum in Paris.
