The Music Department of the Pardubice Regional Library, located on the ground floor of the building No. 7 at Příhrádek, offers a wide range of opportunities for all music lovers and students. After moving from the main library building, we have prepared a unique space with a rich collection – from specialist publications, periodicals, music books and sheet music to audio and sound materials on CDs, DVDs, cassettes, MP3s, MP4s and gramophone records to librettos of operas and plays.
We have seven fantastic study areas and three computers with internet access and printing for our visitors to use. In our listening room, you’ll find a public internet connection and eight places for remote listening from specialist databases and other media. We’re proud to provide our services in line with the current standards of the Public Library and Information Services (LIS), and we’re happy to offer additional services based on our visitors’ needs. We’re so happy to welcome everyone! Just a heads-up, though: some services are only available to registered readers (like absentee borrowing).
The Music Department is also responsible for organising some truly amazing cultural and educational events for the general public. They provide the dramaturgy for the incredible Léto na Příhrádku, and they’re involved in all kinds of formal education plans for schools across the board, as part of the RVP. They’ve also established some fantastic partnerships with other institutions, which has led to some really exciting collaborations! We’re also proud to work with some amazing organisations in the local area, including LDN Rybitví Pardubice, Pardubice Hospital, Pardubice Retirement Home, Kosatec, Slunečnice and Mirea social service centres in Pardubice, and DANETA in Hradec Králové.
While the space is not wheelchair accessible, we are happy to provide assistance upon request!
