I Want to Study

The library has several study and relaxation areas for its readers. Readers can find a suitable place to rest, read or study according to their interests and needs.

Scientific publications can be found in the department of non-fiction literature on the 1st floor. Books can be read in a separate study room or borrowed for home use. Publications intended for loan only can be found in the regional reading room (which includes the collection of the general reading room) and in the information department.

Study Relaxation Area

  • A separate study room is located in the department of non-fiction literature on the 1st floor.
  • 15 seats are available for studying, reading and relaxing.
  • Selected study areas are equipped with a desk lamp and power supply.
  • Wi-Fi.

Regional Reading Room

  • The regional reading room is located on the ground floor of the library.
  • The study room is primarily intended for those interested in accessing the library’s services, digital library and databases.
  • The possibility of attendance borrowing items from the Regional and General Collection.
  • There are 10 study places available for inter-library loan services, reading and working on your own device.
  • Two computers are available in the study room where readers can browse the digital library and databases including DNNT.
  • Wi-Fi.

Reading Room

  • The reading room is located on the ground floor of the library.
  • Readers have at their disposal daily newspapers, Czech and foreign magazines and several study places.
  • In addition to the reading room, which is freely available for study, we also offer absentee loans of periodicals (at the service desk).
  • Volumes of newspapers or older editions of periodicals can be requested from the library staff.

Information Department

  • The information department is located on the ground floor of the library, the collection is intended for library use only.
  • There are three computers for public use (Internet).
  • Registered readers can study electronic databases (CODEXIS, CSN).
  • Readers can access maps, foreign-language dictionaries, Collections of Laws since 1918, statistical yearbooks, Masaryk and Otto’s Dictionary, Encyclopaedia Britannica, etc.
  • Books and periodicals can be requested from the library staff.
