Pearl Hunters is a wonderful project that has already opened the door to fascinating books for many young readers. This game is full of fun and adventure for our readers, which lures children into the world of reading and discovering stories.
With this game, learning is joyful and easy — children gradually discover the secrets of understanding the text while expanding their horizons. Join us and let your little hunters go on a journey full of stories and magic, where every book read is one of their precious pearls!
The competition runs from September 3, 2024 to May 31, 2025.
The year-long competition results will be announced on June 13, 2025.
The Morion markets will be open on 2.⎼6. 12. 2024 and 13.⎼20. 6. 2025.

How to apply and how to compete?
The competition is intended for children from 5⎼15 years of age who have a reader’s card for our library. You can compete in 4 categories: kindergarten, 1.⎼2. class, 3.⎼5. class, 6.⎼9. class.
At the lending desk of the children’s departement, the librarians will set up an account for you on the website www.lovciperel.cz.
You will have access to the website even from home. There you can look at the books (“pearls”) that are included in the competition and print out questions about the books that interest you. As you read the book, you will also answer review questions to verify that you have read the book. Then bring the signed sheet to the library.
Librarians will check your worksheets and assign the book to your account on the Pearl Hunters website. You also get a ⎼ pearl bead for correctly completing the mandatory questions in the worksheet. Pearls are collected on strings during the competition and are proudly displayed in our department. The contestants take the pearls away after the announcement of the results.
The sheet includes optional questions. For them it is possible to get a fee in a special currency, morions. Morions can also be obtained for a nice pictures.
It is possible to create questions and worksheets for books that you like, but are not yet included in the competition. If you complete your worksheet with the answers as well, you will get a pearl for these sheets as well. Be sure to write the page number where the correct answer is (so librarians can check). Your suggestion for a book will then also be included in the list of pearls.
Contestants who participated in previous editions cannot read the same books and get pearls for them repeatedly.
What can you win?

- Annual extension of registration to our library free of charge, if you read and hand in correctly completed forms for at least ten books.

- Access to the Morion market, where it will be possible to buy various goods with in-game money (morions).
