It’s finally here! Our library has just launched self-service borrowing and returning of books, giving you more privacy, saving you time, and making every visit more enjoyable. And it allows us to spend more time focusing on your questions and reading needs.
No more unnecessary waiting. Just a few simple steps and you can manage your loans quickly and conveniently.
Whether you’re picking up just one book or leaving with an armful of reading, you can check out your items at the SelfCheck quickly, conveniently, and without waiting. Just bring your library card with a barcode. But that’s not all the self-service station can do – you can also renew your loans and access your reader account through SelfCheck.
Where can I find SelfCheck?
- In the area in front of the reception desk (ground floor)
- In the non-fiction section (1st floor)
- In the fiction section (2nd floor)
- In the large children’s department (1st floor)
Returning books is now just as quick and convenient. You can do it at the self-service Return Station on the ground floor, between the vestibule and the library staircase.
What can you borrow and return on your own?
You can only borrow and return books and documents marked with a purple dot on the spine.
Worried about whether you can manage it? No need to be.
- Our librarians will be available near the SelfChecks to assist and guide you.
- Clear instructions are posted directly at the SelfChecks and Return Stations, guiding you through the entire process step by step.
Come and try the new product for yourself!
On the first day, we’ve prepared a little surprise for you – the first 90 visitors who make a self-service checkout at the SelfCheck will receive a small reward.
And since our library has been with you for a wonderful 129 years, there’s also a special gift in store. The person who completes the 129th checkout at the SelfCheck will receive Dan Brown’s book The Secret of All Secrets. The winner will be contacted by email, so don’t hesitate – luck might just be on your side.
Stop by and try out a new way of borrowing and returning books. We look forward to seeing you!
