You may have noticed in recent days that borrowing items at the desk is taking a little longer than usual. Our library is currently tagging the collection using modern RFID technology, which will allow you to borrow and return books through a self-service system. We therefore kindly ask for your patience.
The self-service borrowing and return system will be launched in March.

Is it complicated?
Not at all. We are preparing simple instructions directly at the device as well as short tutorial videos. We look forward to introducing this new feature to you.
Will someone monitor what I borrow?
No. The borrowing process remains just as secure as before.
Do I have to use the self-service station?
No, you don’t. We will be happy to assist you personally at the circulation desk, just as you are used to.
What if I make a mistake?
Librarians will always be nearby to help you.
Can I manage it on my own? Is the service suitable for seniors?
Yes. The system is simple and intuitive to use. We will gladly show you everything in person.
