On Thursday, November 27, the ceremonial announcement of the results of the 17th edition of the literary and art competition Pardubické střípky took place, this year on the theme “Secrets of the Old Street.”
A record 222 literary works from 29 schools and 191 art pieces from 18 schools were submitted this year. As always, we received contributions from pupils and students from schools across the Pardubice Region, including, apart from Pardubice, towns such as Holice, Choceň, Brněnec, Choltice, Proseč, Jevíčko, Polička, Vysoké Mýto, Chrudim, and Ústí nad Orlicí. Contributions also came from places like Prague, Jablonec nad Nisou, Kroměříž, and Rožmitál pod Třemšínem.
The literary jury, tasked with selecting the best works, consisted of writers Iva Tajovská, Lubomír Macháček, and Přemysl Krejčík. The art jury included artists Eva Jebavá, Veronika Doutlíková, and Kateřina Jirsová.
As every year, the competition was held in five categories. We warmly congratulate all those who placed on the winners’ podium.
The best artworks will be exhibited at the beginning of the next school year in the lobby of the Regional Library on Pernštýnské náměstí. The awarded literary works will be published gradually in the Kruh bulletin, issued by the Center of East Bohemian Writers.
We thank all participants of the competition and their teachers, who consistently work with them, encourage them, and support them in writing and painting.
