On Saturday, March 21, we celebrated World Poetry Day in a slightly different way – we stepped outside the library walls and brought poetry directly into the streets.
In unexpected places, for both random passersby and attentive seekers, we placed small cards with excerpts of poems. You can still discover them! Take one home and let the poetry speak to you.
Take a moment to slow down. Look around. Perhaps today, on a walk or while waiting for friends, you might come across a few lines that brighten your day.
If you find a poem, we would be delighted if you shared your discovery with others. These and many more poems are also available in our library.
Poetry kindly provided by Atticus, Lukáš Vavrečka, Přemysl Krejčík and Petr Urban. We also used verses Jiřího Wolkera a Otokara Březiny.
