The Pardubice Regional Library invites all fans of author Dan Brown and his charismatic professor Robert Langdon to a themed program entitled “Secrets Behind the Cover.”
To mark the September release of Dan Brown’s new book, The Secret of Secrets, we have prepared a special themed program for Friday, September 12, 2025, called Secrets Behind the Cover, which is primarily intended for lovers of mysteries, stories, and unusual experiences.
What can you look forward to?
Meeting with translator Michala Marková
On September 12, 2025, at 6 p.m., a discussion with translator Michala Marková will take place in the library’s multipurpose hall. Together with David Petrů, she is responsible for the Czech translations of most of Dan Brown’s books for the Argo publishing house. Michala Marková is one of the most respected figures in Czech literary translation, translating from English and French, and is the recipient of numerous awards. Thanks to her, readers have been introduced to the works of authors such as Hilary Mantel, George R. R. Martin, and Jack Kerouac.
Evening Themed Library Quiz
On the evening of September 12, 2025, starting at 8:30 p.m., a team quiz competition focused on the world of Dan Brown will take place in the granary building in Příhrádek. Inspired by popular pub quizzes, the format will offer entertainment and a challenge for fans of the author’s books and film adaptations.
